ArtRage Fun 21

Back with another update. This time is the lovely harley quinn.  I don't know why but I have been chomping at the bit to draw here for some reason. It maybe because i saw the lovely Arie Monroe of DrawLikeCrazy.net knock out like 5 in week and wanted to try my hand at it.  This was just my first attempt at this character I plan on doing a real version of her shortly.

This peice is also special because it marks the my first completed sketch peice with ArtRage 3.  Actually, its ArtRage Studio Pro that  I got a chance to demo and must say I am so going in on this program.  It is by far leaps and bounds above it predecessor, it is not even funny. As soon as i open it up and saw all of the new brushes and settings I almost lost it.  I found myself wrapped up in the water color brush and  some of the other tools as well.  There is so much to explore and do with this program that I still have not had the chance to go through and try everything.   I have been having endless amount of fun exploring what I can do with this program.

I am a bit amazed at the cost.  At 80 bucks this program is on par or at the same level with some of the other natural media programs out there today.

Now I just have to get my hands on a Cintiq and I will be in artist heaven. But that is on far off, dream.

With the said let me say that there is so much more to come,  especially with the new artrage.  I may start having to post more the just raw sketches. maybe,

Sketches and Scratches 34

Damn I am been away for a minute, and I really did not mean to do that. But the good news is that I finally and I mean finally found a new job, not exactly what I want but back in the game no less.

So things will be touch and go here for second, between this job, comic book I am working on for someone (more on that soon) and my own artwork. Besides the fact that I am also working on other clients work as well as trying to get few art book out the door with a few other artist. I am stretching myself very thin.

So enough with the me, me, me bs here is a quick pic I did while at work. I was bored so I had to do something.

No Clue on a name just randomness from the mind:

I got some much more of the way please stay tuned.

This one was a rough for a character I have been playing around with. I wanted to do a fully digital rendering of it, however I am not sure when I will get back around to this one.

so enjoy, I am get around to the full render one day and maybe even upload the full body turnaround.

More on the way.

Pardon My babble ...

...but I seem to be going through a crisis of an artist nature. I produce a a lot of works form illustration to graphic design, comic book art to web design, T-shirt apparel design to Vector illustrations concept art to 3d character models. So I have lot of work and in recent years I have been holding off on pushing any of it because I wanted to put it in an artbook. But, it is increasingly hard on me to look at my art I have set aside for an artbook or a sketch book that is almost 2 years old and see good work or work that represent what I can do.

So my question, my queue is if you think one should hold showing the artwork to be shown exclusively in an art book or just put it out and if an art book comes up collect your best put it out. Don't worry about exclusivity and just be an artist.

Just something that is knocking around in my head. I sitting here on 200 or so various art works for projects that may or may not happen. I'd rather be see that than wait to see them if a book or two get out.
